1 Second Game Privacy Policy for iOS
Effective date: .
About this policy
Lighthouse Games Studio Ltd. ("we", "us", or "our") provides 1 Second Game (the "Game"). This policy explains how information is handled in the iPhone app, including when it runs in compatibility mode on another supported Apple device when you play, use online features, make purchases, view advertising, share a result, or contact us. It describes the Game; our website and the services linked below have their own privacy information.
Game Center and online game accounts
The Game uses Apple Game Center for sign-in, scores, leaderboards and achievements. When Game Center authenticates you, the Game receives player identifiers and a display name and uses Apple's signed identity information to sign in to, or create, a LighthouseGames account for this Game. We do not receive your Apple Account password.
Game Center receives submitted scores and achievement progress. Your Game Center nickname, scores, rank and other profile information can be visible to other players according to Apple's Game Center settings. The Game can display Game Center leaderboard results, including results filtered to Game Center friends. You can manage your Game Center profile and privacy choices in Apple's settings. See Game Center & Privacy.
Our LighthouseGames service, hosted on Microsoft Azure, stores your game account identifier, Game Center association, display name, verified supporter purchases and VIP totals. Public VIP leaderboards can show your display name, rank, support total and tier. We use these records to provide online features, verify purchases and prevent fraud.
Player activity reporting
Versions connected to our LighthouseGames service send activity reports while a player is signed in. We store game and player identifiers, the Game Center identifier verified using Apple's signature and the display name supplied by the Game, account creation and activity times, session counts, platform and app version. We use these records to understand new and returning players and how the Game is used. We estimate country from the connection's IP address; the session-reporting tables retain the country rather than the raw IP address. This reporting does not record individual taps or the timing of your game rounds.
Deleting your game account removes its player activity records and public VIP listing.
Purchases and restoring purchases
Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store using Unity In-App Purchasing. The Game and LighthouseGames process product identifiers, transaction identifiers, signed purchase information and verification results to deliver purchases, restore the Remove Ads entitlement, and calculate supporter totals and VIP status. Apple handles your payment details; we do not receive your full payment-card details.
The Game uses a pseudonymous purchase-account token to associate transactions with the correct game account. A local purchase identifier may be stored in Apple's Keychain and may survive reinstalling the Game or synchronise through iCloud Keychain. Pending purchase information is stored locally while delivery or verification is unfinished. Apple may retain transaction records independently of our game account. See Apple's Privacy Policy and Unity's Game Player and App User Privacy Policy.
Advertising
The Game uses Unity LevelPlay and its advertising partners to provide ads. Ad services may process IP addresses, approximate location inferred from an IP address, device and app identifiers, operating-system and network information, and ad impressions and interactions for ad delivery, measurement, diagnostics and fraud prevention. Advertising identifiers are subject to platform permissions and applicable requirements.
Basic ads are the default. In versions that offer Ad Preferences, you can choose whether to allow personalised ads. With your consent, Unity LevelPlay and Unity Ads may share and combine your device advertising identifier and ad activity with data from other companies’ apps and websites to personalise ads and measure their performance. On iPhone, this also requires permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. We enable personalised advertising only when both your in-game consent and Apple’s tracking permission are granted. Refusing either leaves the Game available with basic ads; we send a no-consent and do-not-sell/share signal to the ad services.
You can withdraw or change your choice at any time in Game Menu > Ad Preferences. Choosing Use Basic Ads opts out of sharing for personalised advertising and related cross-app measurement. You can also turn tracking off in iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. Changes apply to future ads; the Game discards any previously loaded personalised ad when you withdraw consent. Older versions without Ad Preferences continue to use basic ads with personalised-ad consent disabled and the do-not-sell signal enabled.
Basic ads still require some technical information for delivery, contextual measurement, diagnostics and fraud prevention. The Remove Ads entitlement disables in-game advertising after the purchase is recognised. We store your ad preference on your device and recheck Apple’s tracking permission when you return to the Game. Unity’s privacy policy explains its processing and provider privacy choices.
Information on your device and sharing results
The Game stores local scores and progress, language and gameplay preferences, purchase-recovery information and account-deletion status on your device. Some records may be included in backups controlled by Apple. Removing the Game does not necessarily remove Keychain information, backups, Game Center records or purchases.
If you choose to share a result, the Game creates a share image and opens Apple's system sharing interface. Information in the image is sent to the recipient or service you select and is then subject to that service's privacy practices. The Game does not automatically publish your share image to our servers.
The current build does not enable a separate Unity Analytics gameplay collection service or Unity cloud crash reporting. Online services and advertising or purchase providers may still process technical and diagnostic information needed to operate their services.
Support, purposes and sharing
If you contact us, we receive your email address and the information you provide. We use it to respond, investigate problems and maintain relevant support records. Please avoid sending passwords or payment-card details.
We use information to provide and maintain the Game, authenticate players, deliver and restore purchases, operate leaderboards, prevent abuse, respond to requests and meet legal obligations. Where applicable, the legal grounds include providing the services you request, our legitimate interests in maintaining and protecting the Game, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where required.
Information is shared with the service providers described above as needed for those features. Leaderboard information is visible to other players as described above. We may also disclose information where legally required, to protect rights and security, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate protections. Service providers may process data in countries outside your own; applicable contractual and other safeguards govern those transfers.
Deleting your game account
Open the Game Menu and choose Delete Account to delete your LighthouseGames profile, player activity and public VIP listing. You must confirm the request, and unfinished purchases must finish processing first. The Game waits for server confirmation and lets you retry if the connection fails.
This action does not delete your Apple Account, Game Center scores or achievements, App Store purchase history, device scores, or accounts for other games. We retain transaction records under an opaque account identifier for purchase verification, refund processing and fraud prevention.
We retain a one-way hash of the deleted Game Center identity to prevent automatic account recreation. A new game account requires explicit confirmation, including after reinstalling. Previous VIP totals do not transfer to the new account. Eligible Apple purchases such as Remove Ads remain available through Apple's restore-purchases mechanism.
Retention and security
We retain information for as long as needed for the purposes described here, taking account of account status, outstanding purchases, support requests, fraud prevention and legal obligations. Some transaction, security or legal records may need to be retained after a deletion request. Apple and other providers apply their own retention rules to information they control. Local records remain until removed or replaced, subject to device backups and Keychain behaviour.
We use access controls and the security features of our service providers to protect information. No storage or transmission system can guarantee complete security.
Your privacy rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of personal information, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, or make choices about certain advertising uses. Contact us to exercise applicable rights. We may need proportionate information to verify that a request concerns your account. You may also complain to your local data protection authority, including the UK Information Commissioner's Office where applicable.
Use Apple's account and Game Center settings for information Apple controls, and the provider privacy links above for their controls and requests. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
Children
Please follow the Game's App Store age rating and Apple's family and parental controls. If you believe a child has provided personal information that should not have been collected, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the Game or its services change. The effective date above identifies this version; we will provide additional notice where required.
For privacy questions or requests, contact Lighthouse Games Studio Ltd. at [email protected]. Include the Game's name and enough information to help us identify the relevant profile, without sending your password.
